Swifts sixth full-length release, Reputation, was released this past Friday, November 10, selling a reported 700,000 copies in the US on its first day, according to Billboard. This weekend the Look What You Made Me Do songstress plugged the album with an appearance on Saturday Night Live, which was hosted by Tiffany Haddish. While many fans were thrilled to witness the Style singer's first performance since her album drop, others online suspected something fishy about the performance. Fans took to Twitter speculating the starlet lip-synced with one follower asking: 'Are we supposed to suspend belief and pretend she's singing live?' However, it's well known that executive producer Lorne Michaels banned lip-syncing on the show as it goes against the show's essence of being live. It is the third time that Swift has appeared on the hit late night show after making her debut as a musical guest in January 2009, and returning in November of 2009 as host and musical guest. |
