梅根入英国国籍前,必须要会的12道题,你都会吗?
Meghan Markle will be taking a Life In the UK British citizenship test following her marriage to Prince Harry. Harry and American former actress Meghan revealed their engagement on 27 November last year and it was confirmed by Harry's communications secretary that she would be applying for citizenship. 'I can also say she intends to become a UK citizen and will go through the process of that, which some of you may know takes a number of years,' he said at the time. In order to become a British citizen, applicants must have lived in the United Kingdom for three years, have a sound mind, have good knowledge of the English language and be able to pass the Life In The UK test, which costs £50. The test quizzes potential UK citizens on the British history and way of life and is notoriously difficult: since the questions changed in 2014, the pass rate of 18 out of the 24 eccentric questions has dropped from 85% to 61%. The questions are based on the Life In The United Kingdom: A Guide For New Residents handbook, covering 3,000 facts about life in the UK – from how big the Lake District is to what year England won the World Cup. Meghan has lived in the UK since November last year when she moved into Kensington Palace’s Nottingham Cottage with Harry. It’s likely Meghan hasn’t had too much time to brush up on her reading though, what with all of that wedding planning she’s been doing. See how you would fare with our sample test below – you’ll need to score nine out of 12 to hit the standard pass rate: In which of the following years did England win the World Cup?
