Beijing has a lot of character. /北京很有特色。

A: What do you think of Beijing?

A: 你认为北京怎么样？

B: It's an amazing city.  So much history, and at the same time, so modern.

B: 北京是个迷人的城市。既有如此悠久的历史，同时又非常现代。

A: Yes, it's changing fast.

A: 是的，它正发生着快速的变化。

B: It's got a lot of character.  I love the mix of old and new.

B: 它很有特色。我喜欢这种古老与现代的结合。

A: Yes, you can get the ancient and the modern side-by-side in Beijing.

A: 是的，在北京你可以看到古老与现代同时并存。

Notes 注释

1. Beijing is an amazing city / Beijing is an amazing city.  You can describe a city like Beijing by using many different adjectives, eg busy / busy; big / big.
Beijing is an amazing city /北京是个迷人的城市。你可以用不同的形容词来描述北京这样的城市，例如busy /热闹，big /大的。

2. If you want to emphasise something, you can use  so . . . / so . . . before your description. For example, so much history / so much history; so modern / so modern.
如果你想强调某事，你可以在你的描述语前用so . . . / 如此. . .。例如：so much history /如此悠久的历史；so modern /如此现代。

3. If something or even somebody has a lot of interesting features and history, you can use character / character. For example, Beijing has a lot of character / Beijing has a lot of character.
如果某地或者某人有很多有趣的特点和历史，你可以用character /特色。例如：Beijing has a lot of character /北京有很多特色。

4. You can contrast things by saying: I love the mix of old and new/ I love the mix of old and new. 
你可以这样对比事物：I love the mix of old and new /我喜欢这种古老与现代的结合。
