[00:14.71]Once upon a time there was a little boy [00:17.89]who used to pray to God for an opportunity to see heaven and hell [00:22.48]so that he could make up his mind on where to go. [00:26.19]One day his prayers were answered. [00:29.57]God deputed an angel to guide the boy on his excursion to heaven and hell. [00:35.92]He was taken, first, to hell. [00:39.31]What he saw there was different from all that he had heard about hell. [00:44.58]He found a huge dining table piled up [00:48.30]with excellent food and people sitting [00:50.91]around the table looking famished and miserable. [00:54.43]The reason for this was that they had to eat their food with chopsticks [00:59.35]and they were given chopsticks bigger than walking sticks, [01:02.95]with which they could not feed themselves. [01:05.68]So they were all sitting in front of tasty and appetizing food, [01:10.48]tortured by hunger but unable to eat. [01:14.11]The boy decided then and there that hell was not the place for him. [01:19.99]So he was taken to heaven. [01:22.08]On arrival there, [01:23.95]what he found truly astonished him. [01:26.56]He found the same enormous table, [01:29.31]the same fabulous menu and even the same huge chopsticks. [01:34.67]But there was a glorious difference; [01:37.39]the people sitting around the table were looking visibly happy. [01:41.65]This surprised him no end. [01:44.19]Then, in a moment, the difference dawned on him. [01:47.56]Unlike the people in hell, [01:49.55]these men and women were feeding each other [01:52.70]across the table with the long chopsticks. [01:55.68]In simple terms, [01:57.30]they had the capacity to respond positively to each other [02:01.01]and to the given problem. [02:03.10]The huge chopsticks were a problem [02:06.28]only in respect of feeding oneself, [02:08.90]but they were a blessing in respect of feeding their neighbors [02:12.94]sitting at a distance. [02:14.37]Heaven, in short, [02:16.01]is a place where people respond positively to each other. [02:19.84]As a matter of fact, [02:21.79]there are many “huge chopsticks” in our way to success. [02:25.42]Only when we react positively to them [02:29.13]can we transform the problems into driving force [02:33.18]and finally achieve success. [02:35.59]So you see, positivity also makes the difference [02:39.63]between success and failure. |
