[00:14.15]He wished his feathers were as colorful as a peacock’s feathers. [00:18.52]One day, the crow saw some peacock feathers lying on the ground. [00:22.81]“Oh, this is my lucky day,” [00:25.63]thought the crow. [00:27.28]“With these feathers I can now look as handsome as a peacock.” [00:32.20]He quickly picked up the peacock feathers [00:35.80]and stuck them in between his own feathers. [00:38.33]When he had finished, [00:40.40]he went to the lake and looked at his reflection. [00:43.15]The crow was pleased with what he saw. [00:46.09]In between his black feathers were glossy blue and green feathers. [00:51.12]“Oh, how handsome I look!” [00:53.10]the proud and silly crow said to himself. [00:55.82]“In fact, I look just like a peacock. [00:58.68]Even the peacocks won’t recognize me.” [01:01.40]Just then, a flock of peacocks came by. [01:04.70]They looked very handsome indeed [01:06.98]with all their tail feathers spread out like fans. [01:09.29]And how proudly they walked up to the lake! [01:12.67]The crow was very happy to see the peacocks. [01:15.50]“Aha! Now I can join the peacocks and be one of them,” [01:19.68]he thought as he hopped up to them. [01:22.18]He tried to spread out his tail feathers like a fan too [01:25.59]but it did not turn out right. [01:27.99]Unfortunately, [01:29.31]as soon as the peacocks took one look at him, [01:31.80]they knew that the crow was not one of them. [01:34.01]“How dare you pretend to be a peacock,” [01:37.05]they said angrily. [01:38.38]“You are only a crow!” [01:40.24]The peacocks started attacking the poor crow. [01:43.74]They used their sharp beaks to pluck away the peacock feathers. [01:47.56]Soon, the crow lost all the peacock feathers that he had stuck on. [01:51.82]The peacocks continued attacking the crow. [01:55.01]“Stop! Stop!” [01:57.72]cried the crow. [01:59.05]“You have taken off all the peacock feathers. [02:01.66]Why are you still attacking me?” [02:03.86]“Be quiet!” [02:05.18]cried the peacocks. [02:06.49]“We are sure that these black feathers are not yours either!” [02:09.98]They carried on pulling out all the crow’s own feathers too. [02:14.14]In the end the crow was left without a single feather on his body. |
