她写了篇关于披萨的文章,结果进了耶鲁大学
High school student Carolina Williams was accepted to Yale – one of America's finest institutions, with alumni such as Hillary Clinton and Meryl Streep – by talking about how she loves a Papa John's delivery, and all the feelings the process evokes. The Yale application process is complex. One task set to candidates requires them to "write about something that you love to do". Carolina, 18, did just that. Obviously, it wasn't Carolina's Papa John's adoration alone that won her a spot at Yale – which for the class of 2021 has an admissions rate of just 6.7 per cent. But it played a significant role, evident not just by her offer, but by the fact a university admissions officer told her so. "I laughed so hard on your pizza essay," Carolina was told. “I kept thinking that you are the kind of person that I would love to be best friends with.” “I want you to know that every part of your application stood out in our process and we are thrilled to be able to offer you a spot at Yale.” But while Carolina was “honoured to have gotten into Yale”, she's decided to instead attend Auburn University in Alabama. |
