科学家指出《泰坦尼克号》最大漏洞,你发现了吗?
Last year it seemed as if Kate Winslet had settled the decades-old debate once and for all when she confirmed what every Titanic fan has known for 20 long years . In a most satisfying interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actor admitted there was PLENTY of room for Jack on The Door with Rose. You remember The Door, don't you? Basically the size of your average London flat, it bore Rose to safety while Jack froze to death in the north Atlantic, before sinking into Davy Jones' locker below. Everyone agrees there was ample room on it for them both. Then director James Cameron waded in, and said it would just never have happened. Whatever. The point is, we've been focusing on the WRONG plot hole all these years. Scientist Neil DeGrasse Tyson has pointed out something quite blindingly obvious and informs us we've all been asking the wrong question. In his StarTalk with The Huffington Post , Tyson made an excellent point about The Door, saying: "Whether or not he could've been successful, I would've tried more than once. You try once. 'Oh, this is not gonna work. I will just freeze to death in the water.' No, excuse me. No! "The survival instinct is way stronger than that in everybody, especially in that character. He’s a survivor, right? He gets through. He gets by. "And I'll tell you this, if that character was Matt Damon from The Martian , he would've made an outboard motor and saved everybody. This is how science can help you!" You have to admit, for someone who was used to living by his wits, Jack didn't really explore all of his survival options, did he? |
