Victoria Beckham has revealed she tries to be 'the best wife' as she opened up about juggling her busy work and home life at an event on Tuesday. As she took to the stage at the Forbes Women's Summit in New York, Victoria, 44, requested that the 300 attendees not take photos of her during the sit down session. Asked how she balances running her successful fashion label with being wife to David Beckham, 43, and a mother of four, Victoria said: 'I try really, really hard. I try hardest to be the best mother. I am trying to be the best wife and the best professional. 'When I get home I try to put the phone down and spend time with the children and spend time with David.' The former Spice Girl - who was forced to deny rumours of an impending split with football star David, 43, this month - credited her husband for taking on his fair share of parent duties, including taking the younger kids to school. 'I have the support of an incredible husband. We really are equal with everything we do at home with the children. When I'm away he's the one doing the school run and doing the cooking...' In an effort to keep her business separate from family time Victoria confessed she will sometimes sneak away from her children to take care of business. Asked about the common thread in her career, first in music and now fashion, Victoria explained, 'empowering women. I want women to feel like the best version of themselves. 'I'm very proud that a lot of the leaders I have in my company are women.' |
