Better known for its comfortable coffeeshops that invite customers to dwell, Starbucks opened a new “fast coffee” concept shop in Beijing today. 星巴克更为出名的是吸引顾客进店的舒适咖啡厅环境,但最近在北京开了一家新的“啡快”概念店。 The store has only a few seats as it rather encourages customers to pre-order via a mobile app and come to the store just for the pick up. The new model will also benefit the coffee shop’s delivery service. 这家店仅设置几个座位,主要是想让顾客通过手机应用程序下单,然后进店取咖啡。这种新模式也有利于该品牌的外送服务。 The Seattle-based company has been in China for twenty years and has gradually adapted to the demands of the Chinese market. It has also been challenged in the country by startups such as Luckin who entered the market with its novel, digitally-empowered coffee chain concept. 这家来自西雅图的公司入驻中国已有20年,逐渐适应了中国市场的需求,最近在中国又受到了瑞幸这样的新兴公司的冲击,瑞幸进入市场主打的是新颖的数字咖啡连锁概念。 Last year Starbucks partnered with Alibaba’s food delivery service Ele.me to respond to the on-demand delivery trend among Chinese consumers. 去年星巴克和阿里巴巴送餐服务“饿了么”合作以应对中国消费者需要的外卖趋势。 In May this year, Starbucks launched its Mobile Order & Pay Service, allowing customers to place an order online and pick up their beverage or food at a store without the wait. 今年五月份,星巴克推出了“手机下单支付”的服务,消费者可以在线下单,到店无需等待就能取走饮品或食物。 The „express“ model store is not an entirely new concept for Starbucks. It already has a takeaway store on Wall Street in New York’s Financial District. Beijing’s store is similarly located in the city’s financial district. The goal is to help busy people to get their caffeine more efficiently. 这家“啡快”示范店对星巴克来说并非全新概念,在纽约金融区的华尔街就已经开设了一家外带店。北京的这家店也有类似的地理位置,位于该城市的金融街,目的就是要帮助忙碌的人们更高效地喝到咖啡。 Starbucks has more than 3,500 stores across China and has enabled mobile orders in 1,300 stores in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Nanjing.
