肯德基说自己尝试过卖健康食品
If I'm ever getting a meal from KFC, I expect every item to be juicy, greasy, and fried. Never would I have imagined the chicken restaurant would attempt to serve healthy food. But I was wrong! It turns out the chain has wanted to see if they could incorporate less deep-fried items into their rotation and, well, that didn't turn out so great. Throughout the last decade, the UK branch of the chain has apparently tried to make their menu healthier a few times. The Daily Mail reported that KFC even spent about eight million dollars over the past decade adding ovens to their restaurants for cooking more baked and grilled foods. Delish has reached out to KFC for confirmation on the subject. At the recent Public Health England's annual conference in Warwick, KFC execs reportedly admitted specifically to trying to sell grilled and pulled chicken sandwiches, but the public just wasn't digging it: "It didn't go brilliantly well. We tried and we failed to launch a non-fried product," said head of brand engagement at KFC UK and Ireland Jenny Packwood. She continued: "It's no good launching a product which looks good nutritionally but then nobody buys." I hear ya on that one, my good sis!!! All I'm trying to say is, I like KFC just how it is. If we're trying to switch things up so there are more nutritious options, then I'm throwing my peace signs up. |
