run aground 搁浅

A navy frigate that ran aground in the waters off China's Nansha Islands was refloated with the help of the navy's rescue force on Sunday.

上文中的run aground就是“搁浅”，指船只进入过浅水域致其不能行驶的状况；而refloat就是帮助搁浅的船只重新浮在水上，即“脱浅”，常见用法为refloat a grounded boat（使搁浅船只脱浅）。

中菲之间的Huangyan Island standoff（黄岩岛僵局）已持续数月，对于此次护卫舰搁浅，也有猜测说the frigate's stranding was planned（该护卫舰是故意搁浅）。中方对此予以否认，菲方也表示不会lodge a diplomatic protest（提出外交抗议），称在此事件中未见中方有ill-intentions（不良动机）。
