The program to tighten border controls began two years ago when the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition took office.

另外，联合政府还宣布取消post-study work visa（毕业生就业签证，简称PSW）。在family migration（家庭移民）政策方面，他们针对non-EEA(European Economic Area) applicant（非欧洲经济区申请人）提高了保证人的minimum income threshold（最低收入门槛）。
