A mysterious piece of plane debris washed up on the French Indian Ocean island of La Reunion on July 29, prompting teams of international investigators to examine whether it could be part of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

7月29日，法属留尼汪群岛上出现了一块神秘的飞机残骸，国际调查团队正在检测这块残骸是否属于失踪的马航MH37。

“飞机残骸”可以用plane debris/wreckage表示， debris 指碎片、残骸，如碎片云（debris cloud）。Wreckage也表示残骸，不过wreckage指被毁坏物体遗留下来的残骸；debris则是毁坏过程中四散开来或者飞出去的的残骸碎片，此外debris还有垃圾的意思，如海洋废弃物（marine debris）、太空垃圾（space debris）。

波音公司相关人员通过照片和残骸比对进行初步评估（conduct an initial assessment），新发现的残骸与波音777客机襟副翼（flaperon）部分有一定相似度，但没有透露更多细节。
