保护原创剧本（original screenplays）的意义何在？王兴东指出，当下文艺原创疲软主要是急功近利（seeking quick success and instant profits），心态浮躁。改编的多了，原创的少了；模仿的多了，创新的少了。现如今，美国电影以版权分账（copyright collection system）长驱直入，抢占我们的市场。面对激烈的竞争，想要提高文艺原创能力，就必须全面提高保护原创的法度，加强打击侵权（copyright infringements）的力度。
