1. catnap

本来nap就尤指日间的打盹，小睡，像小猫一样打个小盹，指睡的时间更短吧。

He had cultivated the ability to catnap at odd moments during a day.

他磨练了一副能够在随便什么时候打个盹儿的本领。

2. have kittens

小猫多可爱啊，可是在中世纪（Middle Ages），这个习语可没那么美好。

那时候如果怀孕的女人饱受痛苦，当地的女巫就会说，她很不幸地怀着小猫，唯一的解救方法是喝下魔法药水害死腹中的胎儿。后来这个习语就有了“心慌意乱；焦躁；恼怒”的意思。

3. kill two birds with one stone

这个习语就是一石二鸟，一举两得的意思。

I killed two birds with one stone and picked the kids up on the way to the supermarket.

4. guinea pig

它的本意是豚鼠，天竺鼠。我们都知道实验室里科学家总是用小白鼠做实验，所以它也形容（通常用于测试药效的）实验对象。

They're asking for students to be guinea pigs in their research into the common cold.

他们正在找学生来做他们研究普通感冒的实验对象。
