“唱白脸”，汉语俗语，字面意思是“to sing white face”，比喻在解决问题的过程中，充当严厉或令人讨厌的角色（pretend to be harsh and severe）。

在京剧脸谱（facial makeup in Peking Opera）中，“红脸”是正直的象征（symbol of integrity）。“白脸”是奸邪的象征（symbol of evil）。后来人们就用红脸代表好人，用白脸代表坏人。
