选手“晋级” advance to the next round

如果你唱歌跑调被称“绵羊音”，饱受非议被八卦家底，就连评委都几乎为你大打出手，你还有勇气继续唱歌，做个“快乐女生”吗？“狮子座”的曾轶可虽然没能成功晋级“快乐女生”下一轮比赛，但台下的她依然赚足人们的眼球。

无论曾轶可能否在中国最流行的真人歌唱才艺大赛（快乐女声）中晋级，但充斥在她身边的赞叹和嘘声仍将继续下去。

在上面的报道中，advance to the next round就是指比赛中选手“晋级”。选手在最初参赛时，要通过第一关first/initial audition（海选），也就是要survive the first audition，闯关成功才可以advance to the next round / advance in the contest（晋级）。有时主办方还采用internet audition（网络海选）的方式来启动比赛。

这样的比赛中，选手要经过一轮一轮的talent show（才艺展示），设法赢得expert panel（专家团队）和audience（观众）以及fans（粉丝）的认可，才有可能进入不同层级的final competition（终极对决）。
