Curb shame 守交规的尴尬

Curb shame is the embarrassment at waiting on the curb obediently as other pedestrians ignore the "don't walk" signal in the absence of traffic.

在路边遵守交通规则等绿灯的时候，其他人都忽视“禁行”的交通信号灯，趁没车的时候就会过马路，剩下你一个人傻等。这时你那种难为情、不好意思的感觉就是curb shame（守交规的尴尬）。

For example:

I couldn't stand the curb shame any longer so I crossed with everyone else, even though I needed a break from running all around town.

我实在不能忍受大家都把我看作是守交规的“异类”，所以我就跟大家一起在绿灯未亮的时候就过马路了，虽然我刚在镇上跑了一圈，需要休息一下。
