“驴友”最初由网络旅游论坛传出，是旅游的旅的谐音，泛指参加旅游，自助游的的朋友。但是将驴友文化推动普及的则是中国户外资料网，也就是目前内国最大的驴友论坛。这类朋友互称驴友。
