Wu Yi meeting with Governor of the US State of Tennessee

On April 7, Vice Premier of the State Council Wu Yi arrived in the US State of Tennessee and was welcomed at the airport by Phil Bredesen, Governor of the State of Tennessee, James Sasser, Former US Ambassador to China, and Zhou Wenzhong, China's Ambassador to the US.

During the meeting with Phil Bredesen, Wu Yi said that China was the third largest export destination of Tennessee and the trade between two sides developed quickly. In 2005, China imported corn, cotton, chemical products and electronic parts of US$1.4 billion in all from Tennessee. Wu Yi expressed that developing a healthy and steady China-US economic and trading relationship was favorable to both sides. Chinese Market is opening and the trade between China and the US is on the basis of reciprocity and mutual benefit. More US products, including products of Tennessee, and also Investment of enterprises of Tennessee are welcomed to China.

Governor Bredesen welcomed warmly Vice Premier Wu Yi's visit to Tennessee and various trading and investing promotion activities of Entrepreneur Delegation of China. He said that economic and trading cooperation between Tennessee and China was close and Federal Express with its headquarters in Tennessee viewed China as an important market and made successful achievement. He expressed his thank to China's help to Federal Express. Bredesen hoped that both sides can strengthen continually the economic and trading cooperation to promote the friendship and communication between the people of Tennessee and China.
