4th Round China-Australia FTA negotiation Held in Canberra
The 4th Round China-Australia Free Trade Area Negotiation was held in Canberra, capital of Australia, during Feb. 27 to March 2, 2006. China and Australia discussed issues in areas of goods trade, trade of agricultural products, service trade and legal issues, exchanged views on legal framework and basic principle of the future agreement of China-Australia FTA and documents in some special fields, and made certain progresses. The two sides agreed to hold the 5th round negotiation in the last ten-day of May in Beijing to begin the negotiation on essential market access. 28 representatives from 14 ministries like Ministry of Commerce, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture, China's Customs and AQSIQ took part in the negotiation.
