Going for a job interview is nerve-racking at the best of times, but tech giant Google has become notorious for asking fiendishly tough questions. The company used to ask head-scratching questions such as 'How many piano tuners are there in the world?' and 'How many golf balls does it take to fill a school bus?'. But some of the riddles were so tough they have now been banned from the interview process. Recruiter Impact Interview have compiled a list of 140 questions candidates have reported being asked at interviews for various roles at Google, many of which have now been dropped from the process. 1.How many piano tuners are there in the entire world? 2.How many golf balls can fit in a school bus? 3.You’re the captain of a pirate ship, and your crew gets to vote on how the gold is divided up. 4.Another logic puzzled candidates were given to solve was: 'How many times a day do the hands of a clock overlap?' 5.You are given 2 eggs. You have access to a 100-story building. Eggs can be very hard or very fragile means it may break if dropped from the first floor or may not even break if dropped from 100th floor. Both eggs are identical. You need to figure out the highest floor of a 100-story building an egg can be dropped without breaking. The question is how many drops you need to make. You are allowed to break 2 eggs in the process. 6.Design an evacuation 7.Why are manhole covers round? 8.A man pushed his car to a hotel and lost his fortune. What happened? 9.Explain a database in three sentences to your eight-year-old nephew. |
