At the final match, Ren Xueceng met Ukrainian Irini Merleni, the World and Olympic Champion. Facing the strong rival, Ren Xueceng successfully counterattacked and won in the women's 48kg category. Another Chinese girl Wen Juling and Mongolian Tsogtbazar Enkhjargal shared bronze medal in the women's 51kg category, and Japanese Sakamoto Hitomi won in the women's 51kg category. About 700 wrestlers from nearly 100 countries and regions are competing in the world Greco-Roman, freestyle and women wrestling championships which run from September 26-October 2 in the Hungarian capital. |
